On May 3 our Sweet Girl turned a WILD ONE! We are still in disbelief but so ready for the ride of a life time! I started planning for this party in January for a few reasons: (1) shipping delays (2) the custom nature of the party, I knew everything was going to take longer (3) to not feel rushed. The party was hosted outside at a local pavilion. Although the weather was muggy, the weather held out so the little ones could play.

We chose to combine two themes (which had not been done before based on hours of internet searches) a wild one and Minnie Mouse. I based the colors for the theme around an image (balloon arch) for sale on Amazon and got started. I will also recap all vendors used at the bottom of the page so it’s all in one place for you.

Also, if you do not know, I own a photography company. So if you want to see her smash cake session/one year photos you can click here for that.

I first started by having LDS Creation Shop design my invitations and thank you cards. I gave her some inspiration of what I wanted and she brought exactly what I wanted to life! I found her through etsy and she did so much for us (more on that in a minute). Below you will see the thank you cards she designed for us. The invitations had the exact same border but different verbiage (obviously lol).

Not too long after, I asked LDS Creation Shop to create logos that said “Wild One,” “Wild Mom,” and “Wild Dad.” Along with two water bottle label designs.

Afterwards, I reached out to Bows for Jo as well to see if she could do a custom fabric for us along with a custom order. If you do not know about Bows for Jo, you can check out their story here and see why we are such huge supporters of them! I sent her the design inspiration that LDS Creation Shop had done and she was able to design her own fabric to help bring my vision to life! We ordered a custom romper, bummies, multiple bows and headbands. She even did a dog bandana for Theodore to match!

I also used the logos that LDS Creation Shop did to make shirts for the whole family. If I were to do it again, I would only do shirts for Dad, Madison and myself mainly because of the costs (I did them myself). However, everyone loved their shirts so I absolutely do not regret it.

I did hire a balloon artist, Party Prop It, to help me with a focal point of the party and let me just tell you she did an amazing job! She brought our vision to life and even did two custom signs for us. She was so incredibly sweet to work with that we will definitely use her again.

Now, for the goodie bags. I want to start with I believe in dual purpose décor especially for parties, it helps cut the costs and is something a little different. I was trying to figure out what to do for goodie bags and after scrolling Pinterest I came up with the perfect idea! I ordered water bottles (kids sizes) and put the custom logo on them, wrapped it in wild one theme cellophane bags and put a few leaves together along with a cutout of either Minnie Mouse, elephant, or a giraffe. I then filled them with animal crackers. I used these as the centerpieces as well (hence dual purpose)!

For our cake and sugar cookies, we went with a local bakery to support a small business (something I am trying to do more of) and well because her cakes and cookies are incredibly delicious! Emily Flowers Custom Bakery is so sweet and easy to work with. I sent her our design inspiration and theme and she did such an incredible job.

Due to the custom nature, I also DIY’d her high chair banner. I printed the logo on cardstock paper and then cut it to the design I wanted. I went to hobby lobby and found some ribbon I thought would pair with the theme well and got to work. The cardstock I hot glued on to the string and then wrapped the ribbon on each side until it was long enough to cover the front of the high chair.

For food, we did simple finger food (fruit kabobs, veggie platter, chicken nuggets, chicken tenders), sandwiches, chips and a custom charcuterie board. For drinks, we did water, tea and lemonade. For the charcuterie board (I saw this idea on Pinterest and had to do it) I went to hobby lobby and got the paper mache letters of “O,” “N” and “E” and cut out the tops of the letters. We then sprayed the sides and bottom with gold shimmer spray so it wasn’t that boring paper mache color. We lined it with parchment paper and put food in the letters to create the board.

Oh and we also had a 12 month banner backdrop made by the amazing FunfettiTo. Her design was perfect for our party and instead of a black background, she did the kraft paper for us which was totally sweet for her to do for us! I do not have the best photos of this because we could not get it to stay on the pavilion pillars (my fault for not getting better tape).

Overall, we loved how everything turned out and we hope everyone had an amazing time. I am such a birthday person so being able to celebrate our Sweet Girl was an incredible moment for me! Here are some more photos + a recap of the vendors used.
