When we found out we were expecting our Sweet Girl, my entire social media feed became all about all things baby. It wasn’t long before Lovevery was joining the bandwagon (& companies similar to Lovevery). It took me a few months before even clicking on their link to see what it was all about.

When I finally did, I learned it was a toy subscription company specific to your child’s age group. Without hesitation, I closed the link with the thought “I cannot get a toy subscription box for Sweet Girl.” A little background here, when I still lived in California, I was fortunate enough to live with my nephew. With the purest of intentions, we spoiled him rotten. We joke that Toys R Us was in the living room and Target was in his bedroom. It took us a few years before we realized that even though we had good intentions, he now felt he was entitled to anything he wanted. Reversing that has been difficult to say the least and a work in progress. This is why I was so hesitant about a toy subscription box let alone for a newborn baby.

Weeks went by and the sponsored posts kept appearing. Only this time I started noticing a few key words: development, age based, sustainability, etc… Here I am clicking on the link yet again and starting to understand this company is more than just a toy company. However, what did I do? I closed it out again, went on Pinterest and found other moms who had typed a post about their experience (just like this one). Afterall, us moms have to stick together, am I right?! I quickly realized my quick to judge mindset was wrong and this company spends time and resources ensuring these toys are created for our little ones’ developing brains based on their age.

Lovevery was founded by two parents, Jessica and Rod, in 2015 to offer products and information which help create developmental experiences in the lives of new babies and families. Lovevery helps parents feel confident that they are giving their little ones just what they want and need every step of the way. Their play products are designed by child development experts and distilled to their simplest, purest purpose: to be exactly what children need at each stage. Lovevery brings academics, researchers, and practitioners from a wide range of disciplines together for a holistic approach that is simple, accessible, and relevant to you and your baby.

It wasn’t until Sweet Girl was about a month old, that I finally pulled the trigger and ordered her first three playkits. It took me quite a while to make this decision mainly due to the sticker price – the only real con about this company. I say this because I am frugal but will also invest in the right products. This is an investment worth the sticker price and when you buy three boxes at once the price becomes quite affordable at about $36 a month.

How does Lovevery work?

Lovevery is unique in that (although monthly is stereotypical for subscriptions) it is really an every two month subscription box. Although, the first one, the looker play kit, is through the first three months. After three months, they come every two months through their first year(if doing multi-kit prepay). The great thing is you enter your little one’s birthday so they know exactly when to ship each box. I was so excited about this because I never have to worry about the timing and her developmental changes. One less thing for us mamas to worry about! Sweet Girl turns 3 months on August 3 and I actually just got an email on July 24 that they were preparing to ship her next play kit, the charmer play kit.

You do have a few payment options:

  • Pay Per Kit Basis – $80/month (amounts to $40 per month of play)
    • Charged when a play kit ships
    • Kits ship every three months
    • Cancel Anytime
  • 3 Kit Prepay – $228 (amounts to $38 per month of play)
    • Prepay now, kits ship at each stage
    • After prepay the subscription transitions to pay per kit
  • 5 Kit Prepay – $360 (amounts to $36 per month of play)
    • Prepay now, kits ship at each stage
    • After prepay the subscription transitions to pay per kit

Why Lovevery?

Lovevery is committed to researching and developing the best products for our little ones development based on their current age, they are committed to sustainability and are even a Certified B Corporation. Their products are made with sustainable, organic, and natural materials that are good for our little ones and for our planet.

Another reason I decided to go with this company is you know what you are paying for. They are 100% transparent with what you will be receiving in each box. This made it more comfortable to invest in this company, because I knew the value of my dollar and where each buck was going. Also, if you do subscribe you get access to an exclusive subscriber shop with additional curated items for your little one.

Each play kit comes with a parent resource play guide that provides the “why” and “how” behind each thoughtfully designed item in your Play Kit with expert tips, additional at-home activities, and developmental information.

Our Experience with The Looker Play Kit

Our very first kit arrived when Sweet Girl was about 7 weeks old. I was so excited to open it and see if it was worth it. Much to my surprise Sweet Girl took to each item so well it was incredible to see her enjoy it as much as me. At this stage, babies her age see high contrast best so watching her follow everything with her eyes, immediately I might add, was incredible. I enjoyed the play guide because it gave me a much better understanding of what Sweet Girl can and cannot comprehend yet and why these toys will help her development at this phase in her life.

I wish Lovevery was created when my nephew was born because I would have (a) saved money and (b) contributed to his toy collection with educational toys based on his age. I knew before Sweet Girl was born I did not want to go through the same thing. Now, after discovering and loving this company, I tell everyone this is all she needs. Even for her first Christmas, if the timing is right she will get this box and maybe one or two other things because let’s face it, Grandma’s do not listen to us kids ha! Side note: I learned from my nephews first Christmas (her was about 9 months old) he played with the boxes everything came in and Auntie was not happy lol

I hope you and your family find just as much joy with Lovevery products as we do! Have you tried Lovevery before? Tell me your experience. I cannot wait to share our experience with the next kit, the charmer play kit, with you in the next two months.
